| Target Crops | Imazethapyr 10% SL is highly selective and safe for leguminous crops. It is most commonly used in: Soybean Groundnut (Peanut) Pulses: Black gram (Urad), Green gram (Moong), Red gram (Tur/Arhar), and Cowpea. |
| Target Pest | It provides excellent control over a mixed weed flora, including: Broadleaf Weeds: Amaranthus viridis (Pigweed), Commelina benghalensis, Euphorbia hirta, Trianthema portulacastrum. Grasses: Echinochloa crus-galli (Barnyard grass), Digitaria sanguinalis (Crabgrass), Eleusine indica. Sedges: Cyperus rotundus (Purple nutsedge) - Note: It suppresses sedges effectively, though complete eradication may require specific conditions. |
| Mode Of Action | Systemic Action: Imazethapyr is a systemic herbicide. It is rapidly absorbed by the roots and foliage of the weeds and translocated through both the xylem and phloem to the growing points (meristematic tissues). Enzyme Inhibitor: It works by inhibiting the enzyme acetolactate synthase (ALS) or acetohydroxyacid synthase (AHAS). This enzyme is essential for the production of three vital branched-chain amino acids: valine, leucine, and isoleucine. Result: By halting the production of these proteins, cell division and DNA synthesis stop, leading to the immediate cessation of weed growth and eventual death within a few days to weeks. |
Btrail: Imazethapyr 10% SL is a highly effective, broad-spectrum, systemic herbicide primarily used to control a wide variety of broadleaf weeds, grasses, and sedges in leguminous crops. The "SL" stands for Soluble Liquid, meaning it dissolves easily in water for spraying.
